Shake And Stir Festival Bournemouth 2018
This weekend it was Shake & Stir in Southbourne, with plenty going on in front of the shop where we had vintage cars right outside. My personal favourite was the Austin Healey Frog Eye Sprite mainly because this was my first car! Mine was in British Racing Green and was built from a pile of old scrap by my dad, this wasn't his only rebuild he's worked on about six MG's and his pride and joy was his red Healey 100.
The highlight of the day had to be Sally Monella and Betsy Snatchwagon, they were super lovely and a massive hit with all the visitors, you can see them performing at Rubyz Cabaret in Bournemouth. https://www.rubyzcabaret.co.uk
Unfortunately I couldn't compete with these ladies glam jewels and high heels, how they managed to keep smiling in this hot weather with tights and leather boots is just amazing, true professionals, and I can't wait to see them again. In fact my boyfriend was really taken with Sally, think I may have to watch that one!!
With so many glamorous ladies around the only place to get vintage fashion is was from our one and only vintage fashionista Vicki who owns Southbourne's only vintage clothing store, and for this weekend Vicki bought her gorgeous collection up the high street. My personal favourite, and subsequent purchase, was a pair of black plaza pants with a rose pattern, which Vicki is going to alter for me next week, yes she does alterations too, and I can't wait to wear them. I managed to leave the shop for a while and take a wander down to Fishermans Walk, where there was plenty of food and drinks stalls gathered around the band stand, which I managed to resist, so hard to walk past a fudge stand, but the glamorous ladies doing hair and makeup did catch my eye, they looked absolutely amazing, with perfect lips, long lashes and perfect curls, these ladies really know how to get that vintage look perfected.
