Jewellery Care Tips
Taking care of jewellery is easy, keep each piece separately, preferably wrapped in tissue, soft bags or a jewellery roll.
Try not to wear precious items when cleaning or gardening to prevent any damage. This can be an excellent excuse to get somebody else to do it for you, but if this doesn’t work, just pop them safely on the side and do it yourself.
Occasionally check for loose stones by gently tapping the fixing near your ear. Please do this in private, as your nearest and dearest may think you’re a bit strange holding jewellery to your ear!
Try not to wear perfume directly next to your jewellery, and always wipe perfume and perspiration off your jewellery before storing. Goes without saying, but please no showering/sleeping in your jewellery.
To clean your silver of oxidation using a gentle silver cloth to buff away the tarnish, when cleaning stones do not use anything abrasive, simply warm mild soapy water and a soft brush, gently remove any dirt build up. Do not soak for more than 10 minutes and ensure you thoroughly dry the jewellery.
Avoid silver dips and ultrasonic cleaning baths, as these can damage the stones. We recommended Goddards foaming silver cleaner.
