Top Tips
1. Gentle Handwashing: Wool garments require a delicate touch. To clean them, opt for handwashing with a specialist wool detergent. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and add a small amount of wool-friendly soap. Gently agitate the water and immerse the wool garment, allowing it to soak for a few minutes. Avoid excessive rubbing or wringing to prevent misshaping. We recommend Clothes Doctor and Soak.
2. Air Dry Flat: After washing, reshape the wool garment and lay it flat on a towel to air dry. Avoid ringing and hanging your knitwear, as this may distort the shape. Use the towel to gently roll it up in and absorb excess moisture. Once dry, use a fabric brush to gently fluff the fibres and restore the garment's softness.
3. Wool-Specific Fabric Spray: To keep your wool scarf smelling fresh between washes, use the Clothes Doctor Knitwear Mist spray to refresh and protect from moths. This helps your scarf smell amazing and removes impurities.
4. Remove Bobbles: Bobbling naturally occurs with wear, it's caused by friction and is unavoidable. Use a cashmere comb or de-bobbler machine to remove fabric bobbles and pilling. Pull it gently along your fabric to keep your wool garment looking less worn and new.
Remember, with proper care, your wool garments will look fabulous for longer.

How To Use Soak
Hand Washing - Pour a capful of Soak into a gallon of cool water. Make sure there’s enough room for the water to move around and cover the item.
Soak it for 15 minutes (longer is okay), then gently squeeze out the water- there’s no need to rinse. Some color may bleed into the water, but don’t worry, this won’t harm your garment. (But it’s always a good idea to test for color-fastness before washing.)
Roll the item in a dry towel and squeeze out moisture. Lay flat to dry.
Spot Cleaning - Put some Soak on a cotton swab, gently rub the stain, then rinse with water.
Machine Washing - Soak works in both regular and high efficiency (HE) machines. Check your machine’s instructions for the capacity – you’ll need one teaspoon per gallon.
Add it just as you would a liquid laundry detergent, and run the machine on the delicate cycle. You can use the rinse cycle or skip it – depends on what you’re washing.
